Bird

The Red-capped Plover is a small shorebird found along Australia’s coast, recognizable by its red-brown cap and white underbelly. It feeds on invertebrates and crustaceans along sandy beaches and mudflats, often scurrying quickly along the shore. During breeding season, it is highly territorial and nests in shallow sand scrapes.
